Rawabelong Flower Market Targeting Turnover of Rp 125 Billion

Flowers selling at the Center for Horticulture Promotion and Marketing (PPPH), Rawabelong, Kebun Jeruk, West Jakarta, continues to grow. High market demand of flowers makes flower sales turnover from Rp 108 billion last year increased to Rp 125 billion this year.

Flower traders in Rawabelong PPPH could reach 700 people, while the stalls here can only accommodate 400 traders. It means that PPPH area has to be expanded

Head of Rawabelong PPPH UPT, M Mulyadi, said there are 400 florist stalls in Rawabelong PPPH with each stall sizes 3x3 square meters. A number of traders will have an increase in sales on certain events such as Valentine, Christmas, and Ramadhan, as well as during wedding season when many order congratulatory flower bouquets.

“In five months, the total turnover of the sales of all types of flowers in Rawabelong PPPH reaches Rp 40 billion. For the next seven months, I believe the target of Rp 125 billion could be achieved,” he expressed, Wednesday (6/4).

Related to the condition of Rawabelong PPPH area, which only as wide as 1.3 hectares, Mulyadi admitted that it is not enough to accommodate the growing number of traders that keeps increasing. Moreover, people are beginning to realize that flowers selling business is promising which makes many of them interested to sell flowers as well.

“Ahead of Ramadhan, Eid ul Fitr, Christmas, and Valentine, flower traders in Rawabelong PPPH could reach 700 people, while the stalls here can only accommodate 400 traders. It means that PPPH area has to be expanded,” he uttered.
